Licensing & Usage
Are the sounds royalty-free?
Yes. All Puzzlebox Audio libraries are royalty-free for both commercial and non-commercial projects.
You can use them in music, film, TV, games, trailers, podcasts, advertising, social media, and more without paying any additional fees or royalties.
Can I use Puzzlebox Audio sounds in commercial projects?
Yes. Our licenses cover both commercial and non-commercial projects: music, trailers, film, TV, games, podcasts, advertising, installations, and more.
No additional clearance or royalties are required.
What am I buying from Puzzlebox Audio?
You’re purchasing a license to use our sound libraries (sample packs, SFX, loops, recordings).
You don’t own the raw audio itself, only the right to use it in your creative projects. This is standard practice across the sound design industry.
Can I modify or process the sounds?
Yes. You can edit, resample, and creatively adapt our sounds, as long as they are used within a larger production and not resold or shared as standalone files.
Are there any restrictions on how I can use the sounds?
You cannot:
- Resell, share, or give away the raw files
- Use the sounds to create competing products such as sample packs, virtual instruments, or AI training datasets
- Embed the sounds in apps, plugins, or devices where they can be accessed in isolation
- Use the sounds “in the clear,” meaning exposed or isolated in a way that allows others to reuse them
Do I own the sounds after purchase?
Puzzlebox Audio retains ownership of all original recordings.
What you own are your derivative works, such as music, films, games, or other productions that use the sounds in compliance with the license.
Do I need a seperate license for my team or company?
By default, all licenses are single-user. If multiple people at your studio, company, or school need access, you will need a multi-user or enterprise license.

Purchase & Delivery
How do I extract multi-part Puzzlebox downloads?
To install:
- Download the ZIP file.
- Extract it using your preferred extraction software.
- When complete, you’ll have a single folder containing the product’s audio, documentation, and metadata.
All modern extraction tools on Windows and macOS can open standard ZIP archives without issues.
How will I receive my sounds?
All products are delivered as digital downloads. Larger libraries may be split into multiple files to ensure faster and more reliable delivery.
What format are the sounds?
Our libraries are delivered as high-quality WAV files. SCORCHED, our first release, is provided in 24-bit / 48kHz, which is the professional standard for film, TV, games, and most production workflows.
Future libraries may also include 24-bit / 96kHz formats.
Do I need to pay VAT or extra taxes?
Currently, we are not VAT-registered. Prices are displayed in USD (with local currency shown at checkout when supported). If we become VAT-registered, invoices will reflect applicable VAT.
Do you offer refunds?
Because these are digital goods, all sales are final once downloading has started. This policy follows EU consumer law for digital content and is standard practice across the sound design industry.
Refunds are only offered in the rare cases of:
- Duplicate purchases of the same product
- Corrupted or incomplete files that cannot be replaced
Technical & Compatibility
Will the sounds work in my DAW?
Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right.
Do I need any special software to use Puzzlebox Audio libraries?
No. You only need software capable of importing standard WAV files. This includes all major audio and video programs, such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, as well as samplers like Kontakt, EXS24, and others.
WAV is an industry-standard format, so it works seamlessly across professional audio and video workflows.
