Last updated: 23 September 2026
Puzzlebox Audio collects and uses personal information to operate our website, deliver digital products, support customers, and send marketing emails to people who have opted in. This policy explains how we handle that information when you visit www.puzzleboxaudio.com, make a purchase, download a product, or contact us.
Puzzlebox Audio is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact us using the details in Section 9.
1. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the website:
- Order and contact information: Your name, email address, billing details, and information needed to process and deliver an order, including a free download.
- Purchase and download information: Products ordered, transaction records, licences, and information associated with access to your downloads.
- Payment information: Payments are processed by the payment methods available at checkout. We receive transaction details needed to manage your order, but we do not receive your full payment card number.
- Website information: Information such as your IP address, browser, device, pages visited, and interactions with the website, collected through Shopify and any cookies or similar technologies in use.
- Messages and marketing preferences: Information you provide when contacting us or signing up for emails, including your subscription preferences.
2. How and why we use information
We use personal information to:
- Process orders, provide licences, and deliver or restore access to downloads.
- Respond to enquiries and provide customer support.
- Send order confirmations and other service messages relating to a purchase.
- Send newsletters and promotional emails if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email.
- Operate, protect, and improve the website, including preventing fraud and investigating technical problems.
- Maintain business records and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, our legal bases are performance of a contract for orders and product delivery; consent for optional cookies and marketing where required; legitimate interests in operating and securing our business and improving our services; and legal obligation for records we must keep by law. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider their effect on your privacy.
3. Who receives your information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information where needed with providers that help us operate the store, including:
- Shopify, which hosts the website and provides store, checkout, customer, and related services. Shopify’s Consumer Privacy Policy explains how Shopify handles customer information.
- Payment providers, which process payments made through the options offered at checkout.
- Digital delivery and file-hosting providers, which help us provide access to purchased downloads. These providers may process technical information, such as an IP address, when a file is accessed.
- Email and other service providers used to send messages, provide support, maintain the website, or measure its performance.
We may also disclose information where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect our rights, customers, or services. Purchases you make through a separate marketplace are subject to that marketplace’s own privacy practices.
4. International transfers
Some providers may process information outside the European Economic Area. Where a transfer requires safeguards under applicable data protection law, we rely on an appropriate legal mechanism, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards.
5. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected. For example, we retain order and licence records to provide customer support and maintain access to purchases, and we keep financial records for applicable tax and accounting periods. We retain marketing subscription information until you unsubscribe or we no longer need it. We may keep limited information for longer where necessary to comply with law, resolve disputes, or protect our rights.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies and similar technologies help the website function and may collect information about how visitors use it.
Necessary cookies support functions such as the cart, checkout, security, and remembering privacy choices. Optional technologies, where used, may support preferences, analytics, or marketing. Where consent is required, we use optional technologies only in accordance with the choices you make through the website’s cookie controls.
You can manage your choices through the cookie banner or cookie preferences control available on the website. You can also change your browser settings, although blocking necessary cookies may affect the cart or checkout. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to access your personal information; correct or delete it; restrict or object to certain processing; and receive information you provided to us in a portable format. You may withdraw consent for marketing or optional cookies at any time. These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions.
To make a request, email support@puzzleboxaudio.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
You may also complain to a data protection authority, including the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus. For information about rights relating to information Shopify processes for its own purposes, see Shopify’s privacy portal.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or privacy practices change. We will post the current version on this page with its updated date.
